UK Twinning Weekend 23rd September 2016
Twinning exchanges happen every two years. One country will host a weekend exchange with guests from the other two countries.
2016 is the turn of Swaffham to host guests from France & Germany, who will arrive in the UK on Friday evening 23rd September.
They will return home on Monday 26th September. Their journey from and to the airport will be by coach from the Green Britain carpark.
Family hosts meet their guests on Friday evening at the carpark and will provide accommodation and meals for the duration of their visit. There will be some official events which the Swaffham Twinning Association or the Swaffham Town Coucil will organise to include entertainment and/or dinner/buffet to the invited hosts & their guests.
All official activities will be funded either by the Swaffham Town Council or the Swaffham Twinning Association who also arrange coach transport.
Thursday: French guests arrive by coach from the airport to the Green Britain carpark and meet with their hosts.
Friday: German guests arrive by coach from the airport to the Green Britain carpark and meet with their hosts.
Friday Evening: Some hosts may get together and have a small group social evening for their guests. This a great idea to avoid any initial nerves, as everyone can help each other.
Saturday morning: Working meeting for the official representatives of each country to discuss new ideas and the way forward for twinning. Other guests and hosts are free to socialise together.
Saturday Evening: Swaffham Twinning Assoc. invite all Hosts & their guests to Narborough village hall for an evening of entertainment and dinner.
Sunday morning: Time to socialise.
Sunday lunch time: Swaffham Town Council invite hosts & their guests to their official lunch in the Assembly Rooms.
Sunday evening: Another opportunity to socialise or arrange get-togethers for hosts & guests.
Monday morning: Hosts arrange to transport guests to the Green Britain car park where they say their Good-Byes before the onward coach journey to the airport.
Final itineries will be available before September.
